2013.02.11. Experiment delivery
The Gekko experiment is ready and we shipped it to DLR (Bremen, Germany). Our team members will follow it on Sunday, to participate in the Payload Integration Week.
2013.02.07. Vibratio tests
The full experiment, together with the rocket module received before from DLR, was integrated and we performed the required vibration tests in BHE, the largest space company in Hungary. We uploaded some pictures to the Gallery.
2013.01.27. Abstract uploaded
We registered for the 21st ESA Symposium on European Rocket & Balloon Programmes and Related Research. We uploaded the abstract of our presentation about the development and results of the Gekko experiment.
2012.12.06. EAR
Instead of Santa Claus, the expert of DLR arrived today to our University for the Experiment Acceptance Review. We still have a lot of work on the electronics and mechanics, but the development is in good progress.
2012.10.03. IPR
The Integration Progress Review was held at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The review board noticed the small delay of the development but there were no major issues with the experiment. We received green light to proceed towards the next milestone.
2012.09.14. Schedule changed
Today we received official information that the delivery, integration and launch dates were rescheduled (see the Milestones section). The expected launch date is in May 2013.
2012.07.26. Radio Interview
We gave an interview to a Hungarian radio (Klubrádió) together with the BEXUS BioDos team. In the 30 minutes scientific/entertaining programme, we talked about the background and the objectives of the Gekko experiment, gave the audience an introduction to the REXUS/BEXUS programme and also brought up topics like the importance of such projects, the benefits for the participating students and the fun parts of the mission.
2012.07.03-05. CDR
The Critical Design Review was held at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. We presented the status of our experiment to the review board and discussed the open questions with the main focus being on some necessary modifications in our mechanical design. One of our team members also attended the soldiering course and learned useful techniques and hints about space qualified soldiering.

Several chapters have been improved in the Student Experiment Documentation.
2012.06.11. SED v2_0 submission
As part of the CDR preparation, the second version of the Student Experiment Documentation has been submitted.
2012.02.26. Arrived @Esrange for the PDR
Four memebers of the team spend 5 days at Esrange Space Center near Kiruna, Sweden, to attend the student training week & the Preliminary Design Review.
2012.02.16. SED v1 submitted
We finalzed the first version of the Student Experiment Documentation and submitted to be reviewed by ESA before the PDR.
2012.02.10. Team site started
The REXUS Gekko Team site has just been started. Here we share all relevant information about the developer team and the progress of our experiment.
